Hi guys,

long time no hear. Was busy to work myself into the prewar beemer world ... interesting, I can tell you.

Now, I was on a nice ride on my 46 Knuck sidecar rig and found an interesting thing. The bike runs just fine (had my mother in the sidecar for her first sidecar ride ... at age 75. She loved it!!) but when I switch on the driving light, the control lamps for BOTH, genny and oil pressure starts to flicker veeeery lightly. As said, bike runs just fine and genny charges (I'm running the bike usually without and only use the light when I get into a tunnel or shady road).

Any ideas?

thanks
Klaus

some more information
If I take ground at the battery terminal and check power I get following readings at terminal 1 of the ignition switch (original switch and wiring type for 1946)
6.2V when switch is off
5.6V when power on excl light
4.8V when power on incl light (terminal 4 shows 4.4V with lights on)

does that help?

thanks
Klaus
