No, he has a jap copy of a Bridgeport. The Shop that did the CNC expects to be paid. Harvey is quite happy with a coupla bottle of homemade brandy.

proof of concept for the hydraulic clutch. The foot clutch worm moves the clutch .085" out, this first prototype moves .150"

Don't need much changing but must move the line fitting outboard and change the bore a little. I'll be laying down way too much for the foot clutch to be handy. Had originally planed on cable operated setup. but sumptin similar caught my eye.

Back appart to enlarge the cylinder and make a new piston.

The cylinder is certainly a unhandy shape and size to machine

Got the crank assy balanced this morning. And forund out right away that I didn't have any of the thrust washers I needed to centralise the flywheels in the case so I went to get my piece of 4140 prehard to cut a couple and the last asshole to cut one used all the stock that was turned to main thrust size, was plenty sized for rods. So I spent the afternoon whittling the end of the prehard to size. That shit is a pain in the ass to cut. If'n I weren't so cheap I could pay Jerry Grier $28.00 each plus shipping, proly only take 4 or 5 to get the fit I want.

Started making the head studs out of grade 8 bolts. I'm cutting each one to be a tight fit in the cylinder. So far most are .002 to .0035 oversize.

Only a few more to half way. I'll have to trim the one over the intake manifold they are shorter than the rest.

Whittling the hex out with the mill down takes a little creative use of tools.

Testing the hydraulic clutch. It releases enough to turn the sprocket by hand with it in 1st gear. If I was going to build another I would increase the slave cylinder area a little it's a little heavy to pull. But I think its good for a racer.
