Rebuilding a Superstock V96 EVO. The rocker box gasket is stiff covered metal, one piece, item 90-4091.

Thing is, they have stamped, raised portions, not flat. My rocker cover is flat on bottom with no allocation for dowels.

My question is, which way is UP with this gasket? Seems kind of funky that I’ll be squishing down this metal stamped surface.

Its tragic this forum is so silent, CaptScotty,..

But even if it were still active, your thoroughly modern motor question might have gone unnoticed anyway.

This is S&S's Vintage forum; surely they have one for modern designs?

Good luck!

PS: Sorry I have no advice, but I cannot remember if I've ever even had an OEM EvoⒸ rocker assembly in my hands, much less S&S's.

I wrote the product manager that I usually ask about the more modern bikes. I owned a Harley as new as 1957 once, so I'm no help. He hasn't responded yet. S&S has a direct tech help phone number ( 608-627-1497) that might be quicker.

Thanks you guys. I asked the machine shop that did my top end. He said he mounts the raised stamp UP. He’s an S&S dude…it went on like butter.
