Draining engine?

I'm going to fire up the 45 flat track bike tomorrow.

However I notice today that the cam cover is full of oil. So, either the tank is siphoning or the ball check valve is passing oil. I'll worry about those later; the immediate problem is to get the bike running and ride at Peterborough in 2 weeks time.

What's the best way to drain the engine before starting the bike? That seems better than having oil puking out everywhere ..
Shoot, a man could have a good weekend in Dallas with all that stuff...

Remove the crankcase drain plug on the bottom left side to drain. If you have aftermarket WR tanks, make sure you can see oil returning to the top of the oil tank with bike running.

A lot of the aftermarket tanks that I've seen don't have a hole in the return line that goes back down to bottom of tank, and will siphon all the oil from the oil tank to the bottom end over night.

I think I have that problem! I just put a pan under it and let it clear itself....

I'll get the Dremel out and make a hole....
