Stars in motor VIN

There is a 68 FLH on eBay now with star 68 FLH ———— star it looks legit I have no reference,interest or opinion on this bike just wondering significant of stars .

Factory replacement case. Did you look at the line bore numbers?

Thanks, was just curious. I would think that Harley would replace both case half’s and it would have been replaced before say 1971 so possibly have 69 belly numbers . Just a thought.
