gapless rings in a 74" Chief?

decades ago i heard about issues that were not desirable.

i can imagine they mite pull oil past the valves at idle.

has anybody tried?

I never did, Servitrike!

Although I only considered them a 'racing' innovation, I also suspect that the majority of reported issues with them involved extraneous variables.
They might have worked fine with due diligence.

Goin' racin' ?

no, not me. i have always had an issue with oil consumption. with a fresh top end it does great. but that typically lasts a month or 2. not much more than the 2nd oil change.
i have been thru it 4 times since 1990. always plays the same.
never had any other engine do this. not even the Servi.
different size bores. different pistons.
wondering if the gapless could be an answer.

i put them in a Honda 350-4 back in the 80's. a leak down test said i had ZERO loss.
problem i had was it started sucking oil past the valve seals at idle. nice big blue cloud at every red lite. ran like a bat out of. . .

just looking for answers.

If your conventional rings only last two months, I would wager the band-aid would last less.

Something is overlooked in your overhauls.
